About the event
This course aims to equip the participant with foundational clinical skills for the evaluation and management of patients with concussion and post-concussion symptoms. Through a combination of lecture and applied learning, participants will explore key topics including concussion pathophysiology, mechanisms of injury, and differential diagnosis across common concussion profiles such as cervical, vestibular, ocular, cognitive, and migraine-related presentations. Emphasis is placed on the integration of cervical spine assessment, vestibular and oculomotor screening, and evidence-based clinical testing to support accurate diagnosis and clinical reasoning.
Participants will develop a systematic approach to concussion assessment across settings, including on-field and clinical environments, utilizing standardized tools and objective measures to guide return-to-play decision making. The course also introduces current evidence surrounding active rehabilitation, including sub-symptom threshold aerobic exercise, cervical and vestibular interventions, and progressive return-to-activity guidelines. By the end of the course, participants will be prepared to apply a structured, patient-centered, and evidence-informed approach…
